What is Assisted Hatching?
It is an assisted reproductive procedure in which a small hole is made in the zona pellucida (Outer sheath of eggs and embryos) using micromanipulation, thus facilitating implantation.
When is assisted zona hatching done?
The IVF & infertility clinics perform assisted zona hatching with the help of an acid solution or laser. It is done in cases of previous or recurrent implantation failure or in patients with thick zona pellucida.
Who Needs Assisted Zona Hatching?
A follicular monitoring test is essential to see the response to treatment.
